Subscription & Refund Policy
Last updated:
1. Scope
This Subscription & Refund Policy explains how paid features and subscriptions work on Rumors, where Rumors offers them, and how billing, cancellation and refunds are handled. It supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Rumors does not currently operate as a payment processor and does not receive or store your full payment-card information. Where Rumors offers paid features or subscriptions, purchases made through the iOS or Android app are billed and processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play.
2. Paid Features and Subscriptions
Where Rumors offers paid features or subscriptions, they are optional digital features distributed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Availability, benefits, price and billing period for any paid feature are shown to you before purchase through the applicable store or in-app purchase interface.
Rumors does not currently operate a direct card checkout, a Rumors-hosted web checkout, or any other Rumors-controlled payment processing.
3. App Store Billing
Where you make a purchase through the iOS or Android app:
- the Apple App Store or Google Play processes the transaction and controls your selected payment method;
- Rumors does not receive or store your full payment-card number;
- the price, billing period and other material terms are presented through the applicable store before you complete a purchase.
Rumors does not independently process the payment transaction or receive or store your full payment-card number.
4. Auto-Renewal
Where an auto-renewable subscription is offered, it will renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel the renewal in accordance with the applicable app store’s subscription terms before the renewal is processed. Charges for renewal are handled through your Apple or Google store account. Exact renewal timing and billing mechanics are governed by the applicable app store and the terms shown to you at the time of purchase.
If a free trial or introductory offer is made available, its specific terms — including eligibility and how it converts to a paid subscription — will be disclosed to you before you enroll, and eligibility may be determined by the applicable app store.
5. Managing and Canceling a Subscription
Where you have an auto-renewable subscription, you may manage or cancel its future renewal through the applicable app store, subject to that store’s rules.
Apple. Manage or cancel an Apple-billed subscription through Apple’s applicable subscription-management settings or other cancellation mechanisms provided by Apple.
Google Play. Manage or cancel a Google Play subscription through Google Play’s applicable subscription-management settings or other cancellation mechanisms provided by Google.
Canceling normally stops future renewal charges. Depending on applicable store rules and law, you may continue to have access through the remainder of the period you already paid for.
6. Account Deletion
Deleting your Rumors account is available at any time, including while a subscription is active, and does not require you to first cancel a subscription. However, deleting your Rumors account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. If you have an active store-managed subscription, cancel or manage it directly through Apple or Google to avoid future renewal charges. Deleting the App from your device also does not, by itself, cancel a store subscription. See our Delete Account page and Terms of Service for more information.
7. Refunds
Refund eligibility depends on the applicable app store, the type of transaction, timing, your country or region, and applicable consumer-protection law.
Apple. For purchases processed by Apple, you generally request a refund through Apple’s applicable purchase or refund process. Apple determines eligibility for store-issued refunds according to its own rules and applicable law; Rumors cannot directly reverse an Apple transaction.
Google Play. For purchases through Google Play, refund requests and eligibility may be handled through Google Play and/or through mechanisms available to Rumors as the developer, depending on the transaction, timing, applicable policies and law.
Canceling a subscription is not the same as receiving a refund. Cancellation prevents future renewals; refund eligibility for amounts already charged is determined separately under the rules above. Mandatory statutory refund and consumer rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.
8. Trials and Promotional Offers
Rumors does not currently offer a free trial or introductory offer. If one is made available in the future, its terms will be disclosed before you enroll, as described in Section 4.
9. Price Changes
Prices for paid features or subscriptions may change from time to time, in accordance with the applicable Apple or Google process, required notices, and applicable law. Where a store or applicable law requires your consent to a price change, the applicable mechanism will apply.
10. Failed Payments and Entitlements
Apple and Google may manage payment failures, billing retries and grace periods according to their own systems. If the applicable app store no longer reports a valid entitlement for your account, Rumors may restrict the associated paid feature.
11. Restoring Purchases
Where applicable, eligible store-managed purchases or subscription entitlements may be restored or synchronized through the applicable Apple or Google purchase mechanisms.
12. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Policy limits statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time, including as paid features are introduced or changed. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date on this page. If a change materially affects subscription, cancellation or refund rights, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by applicable law.
